All about the Brass..

Not your grandma’s brass…

Brass is one of those metals that has ‘come back’ in a big way and is not going anywhere fast. I am not one to follow trends for designing a space but I do love to refresh with small touches.  Brass is one of those metals that can be used as an accessory or as a larger element in your design. It looks great polished as well as weathered with patina.  It can go warm and subtle or cool and sleek…and blends beautifully with any color palette.

Both striking and bold, modern and industrial or even romantic and soft…brass adds a luxurious aesthetic.

I like to treat it more as an accessory.   Lighting, window hardware, furniture hardware, fixtures, frames, vases,     bowls,trays…etc.  It’s really all about being able to mix metals, textures and sheen….think a shiny brass light with a black matte chair and a honed counter top.  All living in harmony.

So go ahead and add a little brass to the mix!
